About Me	I am currently attending College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine. The school is very small (about 300 students) and only offers one major: Human Ecology. I am self-designing my degree and am focusing on marine biology, marine mammalogy, and marine policy. In the summer of 2010 I was selected to a highly competitive Reseach Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). I spent 8 weeks at La Selva Biological Station in the Caribbean lowlands of Costa Rica studying parental care in cichlid fish. I plan of collaborating my my research mentor, a professor at CSUS, and hope to have my study published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal by next year. This fall (of 2010) I will be headed to Prescott College's field station in Kino Bay, Mexico where I will be spending 3 months snorkeling, SCUBA diving, and studying the marine ecology and conservation...(read more)
