About Me	This is easier than where did you work, etc. I am a published poet and news writer, as well as having my work used in theater. I stalled my fast track to my Phd when I fell in love with Bill and Alan, so I took up the rehabbing of the classic American 20s bungalow! Later, with best friends joining in at their place, we got into constructing a pond and an alpine rock garden, as well as herbs and organic vegetables. I also constructed an english garden and with help from my elderly neighbor who could outwork me until the summer she got sick and left us after ten years. Madeline Jansen - I miss her like a mother. I spent a lot of time entertaining and learning to cook gourmet foods along with vegan specialties for my Buddhist husband. I have spent many summers in California with my dear Sister in Law and nieces and delighted in cooking for them as much as I could. They always made me feel good! I suffered a major blow in a surgical complication and have been hanging in there in an untenable state for years. I just kicked opiate pain meds and am making my way to a high powered surgical team to put it all to rights. I feel so incredibly positive about this life change. While this happened at 42 for me, my husband is 15 yrs older and is now 66 - the age when I lost my Dad. I'm not wasting another minute!! Bill's Dad lived past 90 so I'm taking care of this guy and picking up our travels where we left off 8 yrs (DAMN) ago. We collected well over a thousand books during this time. I made a study of Edwardian literature for children (so much like today's adult level reading) and Folk Lore and Fairy Tales from several countries. Bill started selling some of the things we have because the books are taking over! I have the ones over a hundred years old in my room in a glass covered bookcase and I read them carefully and find something I fall in love with and I'm back on the internet finding my rare book at always an excellent price since it's so specialized. My last job was the most rewarding in my life. I worked as a governess for three very gifted children and had some fun too in the summer when I HAD (Oh how tough it was) to lay about at the swim club with my youngest charge and chill with my pals met in other education roles who were also doing summer nanny work. Two of the boys are grown now and I found my true calling by this time with this family in community counseling - which can mean a guidance counselor or a college adviser or my original destination as a campus minister. It's all passing on the ability to reason, care, understand ethics and help young people know how and why the world is, and the changes that are so very possible. What could be better? I am looking forward to completing my post grad work at NKU (very close to me) as soon as I get out of surgery and have about six months to get strong again. So, that's about it! I must update this!
