Favorite School Memory	Our trombone quartet (Toby Brooks, Ron Forrest, Jeanne Nickels, Monte Bartlett) got a superior rating at contest without practicing. The music we selected 10 minutes before our performance was "Finlandia" by Jean Sibelius. We were supposed to select music and practice it weeks in advance but we never got around to it. Our director (Linda Clark) put us on the spot to perform anyway to teach us a lesson about procrastination. Usually, getting a superior rating is the result of hard work and practice and is cause for celebration...(read more)
