| About Me | Hi. Nov. 30, 2013. I am guided to share message(s). From the class of 56, I remember, well, some of you. I would like to register on this site. One reason is that I went thru (still going) a long, challegining journey, with some success, and I want to share what I learned. One thing that I "get" (any most of my friends agree) is that the closer we got to (pardon me for talking like a Teacher here) Science, Tech, Eng, Math (STEM), the better we came out. So, since I really believe that -- and it worked for me -- I feel obligated to clue you! Becoming adult in the 50's, beginning of 'rapid accelerated changes", was like putting us on an "escalator" that continually picked up speed -- if you missed the start, it was very hard to catch up. Speaking from experience, it was the Math I got at MT SAC which lead to Logic, Tech Writing, and Programming -- worked for me. So, now, with my daughter, whom I almost obsessively pushed into Technology, and she is Sr. Legal Counsel for a Silicon Valley Corp, Patent Div, we, together analyze the lives / careers of those in our world, and have concluded: The more the STEM, the greater the Success! Then, when I put this together with "Technology Uber Alles" (over all), e,g., the Gun won the West, the P-51 the ETO air supremacy, hate-to-say-it, the A-bomb, and now with "globalization" I see other societies pushing STEM to the Max, and overaking us ... This is painful for me! ... I am going to start to write grants for education ... I created CAL-STEM.COM .. and using Gaming and Simulation to teach Programming and Math .. I feel I am doing something .. Past, my brother Richard, 59, is fine, retired teacher ..Sister Lucille retired .. we lived on Paddy Lane, adjacent to Carters (Vivian, Michael), and Heffners (Mike, Colleen) .. In the Navy, I got lots of tech, then MT SAC, then went back to Boston, became HS English Teacher, became widowed, went back for Masters, returned to Cali, for mom to help with Cyndi and Mike, got job at LA Trade Tech, 30+ years, where I still teach Computer courses (let me know if can help member of your family) ... and write courses -- the latest, most exciting is -- Gaming, Simulation, Modeling (using Drag n Drop and GameMaker Language Programming. ..
