I am just an old country boy in a big town trying to get along. I have been eating pretty regular and the reason I have been is because I have stayed an old country boy.~ Will Rogers Raised on Family Farm near Sitka, Ks. (1945-1963). (2 Brothers & 2 Sisters) I am the youngest. "Favorite Memories"........... Active in Sitka Hustlers 4-H Club: 4-H Roundup at KSU '62. (Won 4-H National Land & Range Judging Contest in Okla.City). Active in Ashland High School Football & Track: (Ran Mile in Track). (All Iroquois League Guard '62 & '63; Hon.Mention All State '63). (Offered a Football Scholarship to Southwestern College, Winfield,Ks.) Concert & Marching Band (Percussion/drums) All State: '61'.62.'63. (Invited to Rose Bowl Parade, Pasadena, Ca. 1962). Played in Concert at Gov.Dockings Inagural in Topeka, Ks. Vietnam Vet. (Army ASA ARDF) 67/68 & 69/70. (Meritorious Unit Citation, Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Gallantry Cross, 13 Air Medals)--over 75 ARDF Missions. ~ all above with Oak Leaf Cluster (Worked for Home Lumber Co.,Ashland, Ks; and Davis Home Center, Hutchinson, Ks. 1972-1981, estimating & building new homes & garages). ~ Active in JayCee's as a "Hunter Safety Instructor." CNA Certification 1981 EMT Training 1983 LPN School 1984-85 (WAVTS) LPN Advanced IV Training (WAVTS & St. Joseph Hosp) 1991 Most Cherished Award ~ Veteran's Hospital "LPN of the Year"~2004 ~ will Retire on my "66th" BD Oct. 16th 2011. after 30 yrs in Healthcare ~ Member of American Legion Post #4, and VFW Post #3115, Wichita, ...(read more)
