About Me	Raymond F. Arment III (born July 22, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a United States Army Colonel (Retired) and non-traditional public school superintendent in Washington State. As a Regular Army officer he was among the armyâ€™s first Equal Opportunity officers in the early 1970â€™s. In the late 1980â€™s he served as the Chief of Threats on AirLand Battle Future (Heavy), a twelve-person task force, which designed army doctrine and force structure for 2004 â€“ 2019. The task force eventually programmed $400 billion for future force structure acquisitions. In the 1990â€™s he served as the G-2, 2nd Armored Division, Ft Hood, Texas; Deputy Commander, 470th Military Intelligence Brigade, Panama; Senior Army Intelligence Officer for Central and South America and the J2, Joint Task Force, Panama. His last active duty assignment was as the Commander, Former Yugoslavia Intelligence Task Force, Joint Chiefs of Staff, which provided intelligence insight to national military policy development throughout the Balkans from the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement to his retirement in 1998. In July 1998, the Eatonville School District School Board appointed him as the superintendent. The Pre- Kindergarten through 12th grade district encompasses 540 square miles and is one of the few school districts in the world containing an active volcano within its boundaries. The district serves 2,000 students from three elementary, one middle and one comprehensive high school. During his superintendency the community passed three local tax levies totaling: $34,185,888. The voters also passed, by nearly a 70% yes vote, a $38,400,000 capitol improvement bond the first in 29 years. Superintendent Arment is only non-traditional superintendent serving his initial district after eleven school years. Nationally, the average tenure for a superintendent is less than five years.
